StrikePrice started with a number in someone's head.

My mum wanted to downsize. She knew exactly what she'd sell for. A number that felt fair, that would give her the life she wanted next. Not a cent less.

But there was no way to put that number anywhere. To say: here's my home, here's my price, find me the person who agrees.

Instead she had to choose between a full sales campaign with an agent, an auction she didn't want, or doing nothing and waiting.

That didn't make sense to me.

I have three properties. I know my number on every single one of them. Most property owners do. They just have nowhere to put it.

StrikePrice is that place.

A house in the same street.

A friend of mine in Sydney had always wanted to buy another property in his street. He knew the one. He was ready to buy. But the owner wasn't selling, so he had to wait. He waited over a year before it came to market. If that house had a Strike Price sitting on it, he would have bought it the day he was ready.

Sold on a WhatsApp video.

When it came time to sell a property in Mildura, the agent recorded a video walkthrough on his phone and sent it to a buyer's advocate on WhatsApp. The advocate showed it to a potential buyer. They bought it. No open homes, no campaign, no ceremony. When the price is right, buyers decide fast.

The holiday home on the lake.

A friend has a holiday home in rural Victoria. Three and a half hours from Melbourne, sitting on a lake. The water level goes up and down with the seasons, and timing the sale for when it looks its best is almost impossible. They're not desperate to sell. They just want the price they want, whenever the right buyer comes along. They don't care how long it takes. StrikePrice was made for exactly this.

A property lawyer told me he currently has five separate clients who have each identified a specific property they want to buy. None of those properties are on the market. He is drafting letters to each of the five owners, asking if they would consider selling. As he put it: if those properties had a Strike Price, we would go straight there and buy them today.

The Simultaneous Move.

Buying and selling at the same time is one of the most stressful situations in property. You can't commit to buying until you've sold. You can't relax about selling until you know where you're going. The traditional answer is bridging finance, rushed decisions, or selling first and renting in between.

Strike Price removes the problem.

Identify your shortlist. Find three or four homes on Strike Price that you'd genuinely buy at their listed price. These are real prices, not auction guides — what you see is what you pay.

Lodge expressions of interest. EOIs are free and non-binding. They put you on the platform's radar for those properties and confirm your buyer credentials are ready.

List your own home. Set your Strike Price. Buyers can accept it on the spot.

When your buyer accepts, you act immediately. The moment your Strike is executed, you know exactly what you're walking away with and when. Ten minutes later you can Strike one of the shortlisted properties. Both contracts are binding from the moment of acceptance. No bridging loan, no renting in between, no waiting for an auction.

The shortlist is the de-risking step. By having three or four properties you'd happily buy, you remove the chance that your preferred home is gone when your sale completes. Fixed prices and instant binding turn buying-and-selling-at-once from a coordination nightmare into a sequence of clean, bound decisions.
